The Swedish MTB Championships in Borlänge delivered a standout week for Serneke Allebike. Edvin Elofsson claimed two national titles in the Men's Elite category, while twin sisters Elinore and Linnea Nilsson added two gold medals and two silver medals in the Junior Women category.

The championships got underway with XCC (Short Track) on Wednesday before the Olympic discipline, XCO, wrapped up the weekend on Sunday.

Edvin delivered an outstanding championship performance, claiming the Swedish national title in both XCC and XCO.

The opening XCC race was held in hot summer conditions, putting both preparation and race strategy to the test. With several strong riders in the lead group, Edvin stayed patient throughout the race, conserving energy, responding to attacks and waiting for the right moment to make his move.

”I tried to stay as cool as possible before the start with things like frozen socks and chilled bottles. From there, it was all about racing smart and waiting for the right moment.”

As the race entered its final lap, Edvin saw his opportunity. With just over half a lap remaining, he launched his decisive attack, opened a gap and held on all the way to the finish to claim the first national title of the week.

”I went all-in for about 20–30 seconds and managed to open a small gap. Leo (Lounela) and André (Eriksson) came back close, but I still had a few metres going into the finish and managed to hold them off.”

Behind Edvin's victory, the team showed impressive depth in the Men's Elite field. In his first season racing elite, Olle Isaksson battled for the top positions throughout the race to finish sixth, while Oscar Lind marked a strong return from injury with seventh place. Markus Karlsson crossed the line in 11th, while Vile Torbrink finished 16th after crashing together with Hugo Porath, who was forced to retire from the race.

Serneke Allebike claimed gold and silver in the Junior Women's race as Elinore Nilsson took the national title ahead of her twin sister, Linnea. The sisters set a fierce pace from the gun, quickly opening a gap to the rest of the field before the race developed into a head-to-head battle between the two Allebike riders.

”Linnea and I set a high pace right from the start and managed to break away from the rest of the field. It turned into a really tough race between the two of us,” says Elinore.

On the final lap, Elinore made her decisive move to secure the national title, while Linnea crossed the line in second. Sharing the podium with her twin sister made the victory even more special.

”I managed to make my move on the final lap and take the win. Standing on the podium together with a gold and a silver made it even more special,” Elinore continues.

On Sunday, it was time for the Olympic discipline, XCO. The demanding course featured long climbs, technical sections and high-speed racing, providing a true test for every rider.

The pace was high from the very start, with Sweden's strongest mountain bikers pushing each other from the opening lap. Alongside Leo Luonela and Viktor Lindqvist, Edvin was part of the lead group as the race gradually began to split.

”I went into the race with pretty much the same strategy as on Wednesday. I knew the course would be demanding, with plenty of rocks and roots, so the plan was to conserve as much energy as possible. I knew it was going to be a tough race, so I focused on staying with the lead group while keeping calm and relaxed through the technical sections to avoid any mistakes,” says Edvin.

With only three riders left heading into the final lap, the race was still wide open. Edvin made his move at the perfect moment, launching the attack that created the decisive gap. From there, he controlled the race all the way to the finish, securing his second national title of the week.

”There were three of us left going into the final lap, and when I felt the pace drop, I knew the others were starting to tire. That’s when I decided to attack. I opened a gap and managed to hold it all the way to the finish. Rolling onto the finishing straight knowing I had it under control was an incredible feeling,” says Edvin.

Behind Edvin's second national title, Serneke Allebike once again showed its strength and depth in the Men's Elite field. Oscar Lind led the team home in eighth place, closely followed by Markus Karlsson in ninth and Vile Torbrink in tenth. Olle Isaksson and Hugo Porath also delivered strong rides, finishing 11th and 13th respectively.

The success continued in the Junior Women's race as the Nilsson sisters once again battled for the medals. After a fast start, they quickly opened a gap to the rest of the field, leaving the competition behind. From there, the race turned into a head-to-head fight for the national title.

”Elinore got off to a great start as always, but I took over the lead on the first climb. We opened a gap to the rest of the field quite early, and that's when I knew the national title would be decided between the two of us. I felt really strong throughout the race,” says Linnea.

The decisive move came on the second lap. Linnea opened a gap that gradually grew all the way to the finish, securing the national title. Elinore followed in second, with the sisters swapping places on the podium after Wednesday's XCC race.

”This win means so much to me. It’s been a really tough year in many ways, so winning the national title feels incredible. And having Elinore finish second made it even more special. Being twins is twice as hard when you’re always racing each other, but it’s also twice as rewarding when we achieve our goals together,” says Linnea.
