High temperatures, relentless pace and technical trails set the tone as the Swedish Marathon Cup continued with Ränneslättsturen in Eksjö. Demanding conditions that put every rider to the test - from amateur to elite.
The pace was high from the very start of the 70-kilometre race. Around halfway through, a lead group of eight riders had formed, including Serneke Allebike riders Hugo Porath, Vile Torbrink and Edvin Elofsson, alongside Allebike-supported Michael Tjulander.
"The course suited me well with plenty of technical singletrack. It was an incredibly hot and demanding day, but I enjoy racing when the conditions are tough. Once we got the gap, we knew we had to keep pushing together all the way to the finish," says Edvin.
Managing the heat became a key part of the race strategy.
"I had water to cool myself down and ice packs waiting along the course to put around my neck. That made a big difference and helped me stay cool throughout the race," he continues.
The next challenge awaits already next weekend as the Swedish Marathon Cup continues with Mörksuggejakten. See you there!
